Reciprocating Saw
The Reciprocating Saw uses a push and pull motion of the blade to saw through material. Generally used for construction and demolition work. In the Maker Lab we have a Craftsman reciprocating saw.

Training Required: Basic Training and Power Tool Training
Materials: Variety of materials- wood, masonite, plastic, drywall, metal, etc. depending on the blade being used
Material Fees: We have limited material available in the scrap bin. You can bring your own materials.
Common Terminology: Shoe (or base assembly) - The shoe is the flat portion near the blade that allows the user to guide the saw along the workpiece and have more control when cutting.
