Silhouette Cameo and Heat Press
The Silhouette Cameo is a cutting machine for making vinyl stickers, heat transfer t-shirts, working with cardstock, etc. The Heat Press is used for applying heat transfer vinyl to fabric. In the Maker Lab we have a Silhouette Cameo1 machine and two Silhouette Cameo3 machines.
Training Required: Basic Training
Workspace for Silhouette Cameo: 12" wide by up to 10 feet long
Workspace for Heat Press: 9" x 12"
Materials for Silhouette Cameo: Cardstock, adhesive vinyl, heat transfer vinyl, chipboard, and more.
File Types: dxf, or trace images in software (jpg, tiff, bmp, gif, png)
Material Fees: We have rolls of adhesive vinyl available for standard use. We sell heat transfer vinyl in the Maker Store. You can also bring your own materials in to use.
Common Terminology: Weeding- the process of removing the excess material after the machine has cut the design.
Cut out custom stickers using adhesive vinyl. Stickers can be used for a variety of applications including laptops, waterbottles, windows, and more.
Use the Silhouette Cameo to cut out your design on heat transfer vinyl (be sure to mirror your design!) and then use the heat press to adhere it to your t-shirt or other fabric.
