Simons and a group of Santa Clara University musicians and singers held a round of "pop up" performances of "Who We Are," an original composition focusing on inclusion. The performances were held at several locations on campus on Monday, May 8. An upcoming concert this Thursday May 18 at 7:30 in the Recital Hall will focus on the theme of "Inspiration," and concludes the series.

"Inspiration" is theme for Hackworth Fellow Simons final project

Join us Thursday, May 18, 7:30 pm, Recital Hall, for the third and final "Pathway to Peace" concert presented by Hackworth Fellow Maggie Simons and the Ethics Center. Santa Clara University Music Department students will perform 11 vocal and instrumental compositions on the theme of peace and inspiration. This concert represents the third in a series performed this year focusing on peace. The video above captures the second concert in the series, a round of "pop up" performances of "Who We Are," an original composition by Simons focusing on inclusion. Simons graduates this spring as a senior double major in Psychology and Music with an emphasis on vocal performance, and she plans a career as a music teacher and counselor.  As a Hackworth Fellow, her charge was to develop an ethics program for her peers. Thursday's upcoming concert was funded in December by the university’s Arts for Social Justice Partnership Program Grant.
