ESG Round Table

The ESG Roundtable at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics

Demonstrating leadership in ESG is becoming a differentiating factor for entities in the public and private sectors. The ESG Roundtable at the Markkula Center for Applied Ethics brings together executives and scholars in a forum designed to increase the participants’ knowledge about effectively managing ESG in business organizations at the largest, most comprehensive ethics center in the U.S., established in 1986. The Partnership includes organizations who share the goals of identifying standards in the realms of environment, social, and governance, sharing best practices and identifying data sources for measurement and benchmarking purposes.

The introduction of these metrics signals a renewed value on ethics, reflected in the marketplace by consumers and employees. Indeed, people serving currently in board and management roles are working “to set goals to be realized over the long term, to serve interests beyond just those of financial investors, and to actively design the larger business system they operate within to promote ethical behavior, considering a broader set of stakeholders.”
