Visitors to The Tech Museum of Innovation can explore the intersection of ethics and technology through a joint program with the Ethics Center.

Technology is the engine of the Silicon Valley, and the Center's programs explore the many fascinating ethical challenges that arise out of technological innovation.

Technology and the Ethical Imagination

The Ethics Center partners with The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose to articulate the ethical issues raised by emerging technologies such as biodesign and artificial intelligence.  Called Technology and the Ethical Imagination, the program includes installations at the museum, online resources, and curriculum for classes who take field trips to The Tech.

IT, Ethics, and Law Lecture Series

Since 2004, we have worked with the University's High Tech Law Institute to sponsor the IT, Ethics, and Law Lecture Series.  Focused on information technology, the series has brought scholars and experts to campus including Julia Angwin on predictive algorithms and Jonathan Zittrain on ubiquitous human computing.

Internet Ethics Program

In addition to our work in the general field of technology, the Center offers a program area devoted specifically to Internet Ethics.
