Defense Rests in Jussie Smollett Trial

Subbu Vincent, director, journalism and media ethics interviewed by Banfield NewsNation Now.

As the trial of Jussie Smollett moves to closing arguments, the actor repeatedly denied the existence of a hoax and his alleged involvement in a scheme during trial testimony and claims that CNN anchor Don Lemon, a friend of his, told him Chicago police weren’t buying his story. News Nation Host, Ashleigh Banfield, invited Subbu Vincent to weigh in.

"The fact that Don Lemon released information about what the police thought of Jussie Smollett's claims to him before he might have covered it for the public, that is a fundamental conflict of interest," said Vincent.
