Is It Moral to Imbue Machines with Consciousness?

"I don’t believe, for example, that consistency is inherently good. We have laws, but we also have discretion, which allows human decision makers to take all kind of factors into consideration. So would a more consistent AI, unable to exercise discretion, really be superior in terms of morality?"
