Sparsh Garg

Embarking on the LSB Community Fellows Program journey as a Business Development Intern at the San Jose Office of Economic Development has been a blend of excitement and insightful discoveries. In a vibrant environment where Sal Alvarez serves as my mentor, I find myself immersed in a realm of innovative projects and impactful community initiatives. The team’s dedication to fostering economic development and supporting local businesses through various programs, such as the Storefronts Grants Assistance Program, resonates with my aspirations and enhances the richness of this learning experience.

One of the intriguing aspects of my role is the opportunity to work on enhancing the efficiency of our programs using automation technologies. This focus aligns with the organization’s innovative approach, particularly in the Storefronts Grants Assistance Program, which empowers businesses to revitalize their operations or embark on new entrepreneurial journeys by providing essential funding and support.

Looking forward, my vision is to contribute substantially by maximizing the number of grants awarded to deserving businesses. I aim to streamline and automate as much of the process as possible, ensuring that the support we offer is accessible and effectively meets the needs of the community. Through this fellowship, I am eager to leverage technology and innovation to make a meaningful impact, fostering a thriving and resilient economic landscape in San Jose.
