Give a brief summary of your responsibilities/tasks in the internship.

As the social media coordinator I managed CET’s social and digital media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Yelp and other channels.  I created and maintained new marketing campaigns, monitored progress using web analytic tools, and took social media initiatives.

How do you think you made positive contributions to the department/organization?

I have improved the structure and organization of the social media platforms. I have also encouraged the center’s directors to use social media tools and created resources, policies, and procedures that would make it easier for them to do so. I feel most proud of the alignment I created with the current social media platforms.

How did this experience enhance or connect to what you are learning in your business or other courses?

I was able to directly implement my marketing skills in the workplace while also learning new skills. I have taken an Internet Marketing and Brand Innovation Marketing classes that I felt went hand-in-hand with some of the projects I worked on at CET.

What was the most beneficial aspect of this experience for you?

I believe learning more about the broader South Bay area community and taking action to help CET was the most beneficial aspect of this experience. The compassion that I felt from both CET students and employees in regard to their mission, work, and end goals was extremely valuable to me.
