Ciocca-Koch Oversight & Accountability

The Ciocca-Koch Gift Oversight & Accountability Committee was formed at the request of the Faculty Senate to advise the Provost on the maintenance of academic freedom and institutional integrity in decisions related to the expenditures of a gift from Carlyse Frazia and Art Ciocca and a supporting gift from the Charles Koch Foundation. The committee will review research fund distribution, curriculum development, and hiring and promotion decisions to assure that institutional autonomy is maintained.

The Committee consists of three tenured faculty from the schools whose curriculum and hiring are most affected by the gift, namely the Leavey School of Business, the School of Engineering, and the College of Arts and Sciences. In addition, one additional faculty member, a staff member, a student, and a Provost’s Office representative will serve.  

 The committee reports annually to the Faculty Senate Council, the Staff Senate and the Student Senate:
