L. Suzanne Dancer, C.D.P.

Assistant Provost for Planning and Analysis

Dr. Dancer is responsible for designing and conducting studies of programs and issues to support academic planning, enrollment planning, faculty resource planning, and the integration of academic planning with University strategic planning.

Before joining the Provost's office in 2007, Dr. Dancer evaluated and conducted analyses of various programs overseen by the Provost's office at the University of Texas at Austin and taught graduate courses in Statistics and Research Methods for seven years. Dr. Dancer also served as the Chief Financial Officer for the Sisters of Divine Providence of Texas for four years, and she was Assistant and later Associate Professor at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee for eight years. Byproducts of her teaching and research include two software programs, one for teaching 15 commonly used statistical tests based on Student's t-test and Fisher's f-test and one for modeling the effects of rates of returns, spending, and inflation on growth of an investment fund. She has been a Sister of Divine Providence since 1971.

Dr. Dancer received a B.A. in Mathematics from Our Lady of the Lake University (1972) and both a Master's degree (1982) and a Ph.D. (1986) in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she majored in Statistics and Experimental Design. Her Doctoral research took her to England and Israel, where she investigated techniques for attitude measurement and scaling. Since 1996, she has been a frequent traveler to Mexico, where she created accounting software used as a replacement for hand-held calculators by various religious communities.
