Bryson White received $10,000 from the Wabash Center
Bryson White with the Religious Studies Department has received a $10,000 award from the Wabash Center to support his project "In Search of Open Water: Black Men Jr. Scholars, Pedagogical Vulnerability, and the Pursuit of a More Excellent Way".
The foci of this grant are threefold: 1) To establish the foundation of a working group centered on destabilizing Black masculinities within the study of religion in pursuit of the practice of pedagogical vulnerability. We envision the working group to continue beyond the life cycle of the grant; 2) Develop the template for an edited volume centered on Religious Studies, Pedagogical Vulnerability, and the Spirituality of Black Men.
