
Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Jesica Fernández
Dr. Jesica Fernández is an Assistant Professor in the Ethnic Studies Department and a celebrated leader in sustainability and environmental justice. She exemplifies the connection between academia and advocacy, inspiring her students and colleagues alike to engage with sustainability as a path toward justice and transformation. She has collaborated with the Environmental Justice & the Common Good Initiative to address critical intersections of social equity and environmental health, and works collaboratively with young people to bring about social change via youth organizing and activism efforts. She has earned a Sustainability Champion group nomination for her impactful contributions on the Climate & Environmental Justice Conference Organizing Committee.
