No Pollute Commute Challenge

Save the Date for our No Pollute Commute Challenge: May 11-18, 2024!

The Center for Sustainability and the Parking & Transportation Services Office are hosting a No Pollute Commute Challenge to encourage students, faculty, and staff to commute to and from campus using sustainable transportation options.

Throughout the week, we're hosting educational and fun events highlighting different modes of sustainable transportation!

  • Caltrain Electric Train Tour

    Saturday, May 11th
    San Carlos Station (599 El Camino Real San Carlos, CA 94070)

    Be among the first to board Caltrain’s new, modern electric trains as they unveil the future of their service. Explore the spacious interiors, learn about the exciting new features, and get a glimpse of what Caltrain will be like in 2024. Join Caltrain for their next free community event and enjoy the following: an Electric Train Tour, Caltrain Giveaways, Food Trucks, Games, a Photo Booth, an Art Demonstration, and Community Resources.

  • SCU's Energizer Station

    Whether you bike every day or once every couple of months - to work, to school, to the farmer’s market, to the library - you’re invited to join thousands in celebration of the humble bicycle. Swing by SCU’s Energizer Station on the Alameda Lawn on your commute to campus for breakfast snacks and other goodies!

    Don’t forget to Pledge to Ride to make sure you are eligible for all the goodies our station has to offer, and sign up for the Bay Area Bike Challenge. Check out the Bay Area Bike to Wherever Days website for the official map of all Energizer Stations.

  • Bike Repair Stations

    Does your bike need some TLC? There are four Dero Bike Fixit stations around campus. A Fixit station can be found at Swig Hall North Steps (Kennedy Mall side), San Filippo West End (near the Sobrato Fountain), Campus Safety/Transportation Services, and the University Villas. Use this map to find other Fixit stations in the Santa Clara / San Jose area and nationwide. You can also check out Community Cycles of California, a nearby non-profit social enterprise.

  • Clipper Start

    Clipper START is a pilot program that provides single-ride discounts to eligible riders. Participants receive a 50% discount on the following services: BART, Muni, Caltrain, VTA, and more! To qualify, you must be a resident of the San Francisco Bay Area, 19-64 years old, not have an RTC Clipper Card for people with disabilities, and have a household income of 200% of the federal poverty level or less.
