Farm Stand

An assortment of green vegetables for sale at the Forge Garden Farm Stand, including kale and peppers.

Our Farm Stand is every Friday:

  • 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Student Hour: Please provide valid student ID when shopping.
  • 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Community Hour: All are welcome to shop at this time.

The Forge Farm Stand provides affordable, Certified Organic produce grown in our ½ acre garden. The Farm Stand is sliding scale, donation-based. This means you pay what you can afford. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. The first hour of the farm stand is reserved for SCU students only. The farm stand is held at The Forge Garden except for the first week of the month, it will be held as a pop-up at an alternative location. Please see our FAQ for more information.

After receiving abundant feedback from our community, we decided to re-launch our farmstand with a student hour. Our students work hard to grow the food at The Forge Garden and we’d like them to have the opportunity to cook the food from their campus garden.

All are welcome during community hour! Our farm stand will be open to any neighbor, SCU staff/faculty/student, or visitor from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Our farm stand is donation-based and on a sliding scale. This means you pay what you can afford. Our suggested donation levels are $1, $2, or $3 per pound. If something is heavy (like watermelon), pay less, if something is light (like basil), pay more. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. All funds from the farm stand go back into the garden by funding paid student positions and other garden projects.

We accept cash and credit cards.

Yes, please bring your own reusable shopping bags. We do not provide plastic produce bags. We have muslin produce bags for sale for $1.

Every week, except the first week of the month, the farm stand is located in our garden at 1051 Sherman St. Santa Clara, CA 95050. We set up the farm stand in our outdoor kitchen. When you enter the garden, head to the right on the south side of the solar house. The first week of the month we will host a pop-up farm stand at an alternative location.

We will hold pop-up farm stands occasionally each quarter. We may pop-up on campus or another location. Follow us on social media (Instagram @theforgegarden) to find our location.

Yes, we have a ramp on the north side of the solar house. If any assistance is needed, please let us know by emailing theforge@scu.edu.

Yes! We are certified Organic through CCOF. We work really hard to maintain this certification and go above and beyond to grow food that is healthy for people and the planet.

While we are a productive market garden, we are still only a ½ acre and not always able to meet the demand of our thriving community. Our friends at Spade and Plow offer a weekly produce box that can be picked up at The Forge Garden. We also encourage you find a local farmers' market near you.
