Director of Recreation History
1999-2000: Mark Harriman
The Malley Center opened its doors on September 15, 1999 with Mark Harriman as the first Director of Recreation.
2000-2002: Dave Gilmore
A year later, the Malley Center introduced the next Director of Recreation, Dave Gilmore.
2002-Present: Janice DeMonsi
On June 3, 2002, Janice DeMonsi was hired as the third and current Director of Recreation.
Assistant Directors History
1999-2000: Nick Johnson & Wendy Baumbach
From September 2004 to Summer of 2006, the Malley Center had Recreation Assistants (10 month position) that was shared with the Wellness Center before they transitioned to their new home on Market Street.
2006-2010: Erin Patchett
Erin Patchett became the first Assistant Director of Recreation. Her position at the time was 10 months focusing on Campus Recreation only. In 2008, her position became full time. After leaving Santa Clara Campus Recreation, Erin continued to work in recreation at Colorado State University.
2011-Present: Kathryn Hutchings
On August 10, 2011, we welcomed Kathryn Hutchings as the new Assistant Director of Recreation. Kathryn still works with Campus Recreation as the Assistant Director for Club Sports.
2019-2020: Colin Allison
Colin Allison was hired in 2019 as the first Assistant Director for Membership and Aquatics, but unfortunately due to COVID-19, this position ended. Colin continued to work in recreation at Columbia University.
2021-Present: Austin Hunt
In 2021, we welcomed Austin Hunt as the first Assistant Director for Intramurals and Camp (Bronco Kids All Sports Camp).
2022-2025: Kelly Frumkin
In 2022, we welcomed Kelly Frumkin as the first Assistant Director for Membership and Operations. Kelly transitioned roles to work in academic services at Santa Clara University athletics.
2026-Present: Leland Manaois
In 2026, we welcomed Leland Manaois as the next Assistant Director for Membership and Operations.
