Policies and Procedures
We are still busy putting together the winter fitness schedule and willl have the website up to date by Jan. 6 for the free week of classes.
Pass options include for students the fitness pass and for non-students we have the unlimited, punch or drop in. All passes and photo ID will be needed to attend classes starting the 2nd Monday of the academic quarter. In the summer they are needed as of day one. There are no preview classes during the summer. The first week of the academic quarter Monday - Sunday will be a week of FREE preview classes for all. Classes will then run for nine weeks. In the summer classes run for 14 weeks.
This fall there will be no classes Saturday, Nov. 17 - Sunday, Nov. 25 due to the Thanksgiving Break holiday.
We typically have a few classes to help students destress during finals week. These will be announced during dead week each academic quarter.
New for the 18 - 19 academic year all students will be able to attend classes all year for feee. Guest will no longer be able to attend classes. Faculty and staff that are in academic classes at SCU but their primary role is Faculty or Staff do not qualify for the free fitness pass.

- Unlimited Pass (pass price decreases by $10 each week as of Mon., Oct. 1 until the last 2 weeks of the quarter.)
- $100 starting Sept. 17 - Sept. 30
- $90 Oct. 1 - Oct. 7
- $80 Oct. 8 - Oct. 14
- $70 Oct. 15 - Oct. 21
- $60 Oct. 22 - Oct. 28
- $50 Oct. 29 - Nov.4
- $40 Nov. 5 - Nov. 11
- $30 Nov. 12 – Dec. 2
- Punch Pass $30 for 9 full classes
- Drop In
- $2.50 30-minute class
- $5 for a cardio or cycling class
- $7 for a yoga or pilates class
Pass Options for all Quarters
Current Student Free Fitness Pass
Santa Clara Students now have free access to the fitness classes for the 18 - 19 academic year. Register for a free fitness pass at the front desk, and use this each time you come to class. Passes and photo ID will be needed to attend classes. Faculty/Staff taking an academic class at SCU but their primary role is Faculty/Staff do not qualify for the free fitness pass.
Non-student Unlimited Fitness Pass
The unlimited pass allows the pass holder to participate in unlimited fitness classes per day/per week for the current quarter. Unlimited passes are non-transferable and non-refundable. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen cards. To use this pass, show the pass and a photo ID to the staff member checking in the class.
Non-student Punch Pass
The punch pass allows for participation in 9 full classes until the pass is out of punches. Participants may purchase more than one punch pass per quarter. Punch passes are non-transferable and non-refundable. Campus Recreation is not responsible for lost or stolen passes. To use this pass, show the pass and a photo ID to the staff member checking in the class.
Non-student Drop In Pass
Participants that want to attend only one class can purchase a drop in pass. Participants will purchase the drop in on the day they would like attend a class & show their receipt to the Campus Recreation Staff checking in the classes.
How to Purchase Your Pass
During all business hours you will be able to purchase or pick up your fitness class pass at the Malley Center Front Desk. We accept cash, check, Visa or MasterCard for payment. We are unable to take Flex for payments. For free student passes we still need you to have a pass so we know who is taking the fitness classes.
Passes will become available for purchase during the first week of the quarter, so it is highly recommended to start buying & picking up the first week to avoid long lines when passes are needed week two.
How to Use Your Pass
Entrance is first-come, first serve. Class sizes are limited to room capacity (43) or as noted on the schedule. All classes are held in the Malley Center Multipurpose Room. Places in line cannot be reserved for friends or co-workers. Participants will need to show their pass (18-19 fitness, unlimited, punch or drop in receipt) and their ACCESS card or Malley Center Membership card to the Campus Recreation Staff checking in the classes to participate. Participants that do not have their ACCESS card, Malley Center Membership Card or pass will not be able to participate in the fitness classes.
Proper athletic footwear with non-marking soles must be worn (with the exception of all yoga/pilates classes). Please arrive to class on time. Patrons will not be admitted five minutes after class has begun. Schedules are subject to change or cancellation. A revised class schedule will be posted when changes have been made. Please note that some of our instructors are law students and their academic schedule is semesters. We will note all their changes on the current class schedule. All passes are non-transferable and non-refundable with one exception: a medical refund. A medical refund may be available with appropriate verification from a physician. In such instances the pass refund will be pro-rated to the date of the medical documentation provided. To request a medical refund, please complete this Refund Request Form. You may submit it to the Malley Center Front Desk Staff with the current quarter's fitness pass. All refund checks will be mailed to the address provided on the Refund Request Form four to six weeks after submitting your request.
