Sullivan Aquatic Center at Santa Clara University Kickboxing Class at Malley Center

Current Santa Clara University students and Jesuit School of Theology students, when they are registered for classes, are provided access free of charge to the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center, Sullivan Aquatic Center, Bellomy Field, Degheri Tennis Center and outdoor facilities with valid ACCESS Card.

During the summer session, students registered for summer courses of provided access only during the Summer Session in which they are enrolled in. Continuing students not registered for summer school, or students not enrolled in the current Summer Session, must purchase a summer membership to gain access to the Malley Center and Sullivan Aquatic Center. As of July 1, 2019 Faculty and Staff will be eligible to purchase a discounted Malley Center Membership to the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center and Sullivan Aquatics Center. Prior to July 1 2019, Faculty and Staff access will mirror current Students. Please see Faculty and Staff section for rate and more information. 

Faculty and Staff with a valid ACCESS Card will have access to all outdoor facilities, including: the Degheri Tennis Courts, Bellomy Field & Track, Beach Volleyball, Outdoor Basketball and Outdoor Fitness Area. After July 1, 2019 this access will remain the same.  

Retirees from Santa Clara University and Retiree spouses interested in obtaining access to the Pat Malley Fitness and Recreation Center and Sullivan Aquatic Center need to email Colin Allison, Assistant Director of Aquatics and Membership at callison@scu.edu

Spouses and Domestic Partners of Faculty, Staff and current Students are eligible to purchase discounted Malley Center memberships as of July 1, 2019. Prior to this date, spouses and domestic partners will be free if Faculty, Staff or student is current. See Spouse section for more information. 

Alumni are eligible to purchase a Malley Center Membership at the Alumni rate. Please see the Alumni Membership section for definition of Alumni. Spouse's of Alumni are eligible for a membership at the Alumni rate. 

All Faculty, Staff, Retiree, Alumni and Spouse members can also attend our Fitness Classes for an additional nominal fee. An Unlimited Fitness Class Pass is included with Annual Membership package for all membership types. All other university programs, including club sports, intramural sports, and student activities, are not part of the membership. Access to these programs varies, but typically is limited to current SCU students with the exception of Intramural Sports, which is also open to current faculty and staff with a Malley Center Membership. 

Visiting professors or scholars may be eligible for a Visiting Professor Membership. See Visiting Professors below for more details. 

The general community is not eligible for memberships.

Visit the Malley Center Front Desk during business hours. You will need to complete a Membership Agreement Form & Liability Waiver, which is available at the Front Desk. This paperwork is not currently online, but is still required for all memberships & membership renewals. Spouses wishing to register or renew must be with the affiliated Faculty, Staff or Student member during their registration process. 

We accept cash, check, Visa, or MasterCard for payment of your membership. The process to complete the paperwork, take your photo and print your membership card will take about ten minutes. Please plan accordingly.

Lost or stolen Malley Center Membership cards can be replaced for a nominal fee. Please visit the Malley Center Front Desk to purchase a replacement. 

Access to the recreation facilities without your membership card is permitted once per quarter with another form of valid, government issued photo ID. For more information, see Malley Center Policies.

Any individual who has completed one year of undergraduate study at the University qualifies as an alumn(us/a), even is he/she did not receive a degree from SCU. Graduate students must receive a degree from SCU in order to attain alumni status for a membership. Completion of a Certification program does not grant on alumni status for membership. All memberships will pay the rate for the membership they choose and it will expire a month, quarter or year from the date of purchase.

The Barbri membership is for those on campus in late May - July (when the bar exam is) who are non-SCU or returning alumni of SCU. The membership is $145 ($95 for SCU Law Students who graduated in May 2019) for access to the Malley Center and Sullivan Aquatics Center for those two and a half months of study. Students in the review session can show their receipt or badge to get their membership. This class does not make them an alumnus of SCU.

Spouses of current students*, faculty, staff, and retirees may obtain a Malley Center Membership card, currently free of charge, by signing up with their spouse at the Malley Center Front Desk during business hours. 

As of July 1, Spouses and domestic partners of Faculty, Staff and current Students* may purchase a Malley Center Membership card by signing up with their spouse at the Malley Center Front Desk during business hours. Please note that Faculty or Staff must have a Malley Center Membership in order for their Spouse to be eligible to register. See Faculty and Staff section for rates.  

*The student must be enrolled and taking classes for the spouse/domestic partner to be eligible for the discounted rate. If they are not enrolled in summer classes and are a continuing student, the same summer membership price options are available for purchase by the student and spouse of the student.

The spouses and domestic partners of both Santa Clara University Alumni** and Jesuit School of Theology Alumni** may purchase a Malley Center Membership for the same rate as the alumn(us/a).  Alumni members must have a current membership for spouses to be eligible to purchase a membership. This membership is for college students (from other universities) who are children of current Students, Faculty or Staff.

  • Must provide proof of enrollment in a college (tuition bill for the most recent period, admittance letter for the upcoming fall for incoming freshman, or transcript)
  • Membership is available May 1 - September 30
  • Must come in with their parent when signing up for membership, and their parent must be a current member

Law students not enrolled in summer classes, regular access will stop on May 22; UGRAD and GRAD on June 17. Students are encouraged to sign up early for their Malley Center Summer Membership to avoid waiting in line when your access is stopped. Law student sign ups begin Monday, May 13 and undergraduate and graduate students Friday, May 31.

We would like to encourage students to purchase early to avoid waiting in line to sign up and delaying your workout. Law student sales will begin May 13; and undergraduate and graduate students May 31.

Students that are enrolled in 2019 summer classes will continue to have access with their ACCESS cards during the Summer Session they are registered for classes. All students not enrolled will be required to purchase one of the above options to continue using the Malley Center and Sullivan Aquatic Center. Other Campus Recreation facilities will not be accessible due to summer camps.

Malley Center Summer Memberships for students and their spouses can be purchased at the Malley Center Front Desk using cash, check, Visa or MasterCard for payment. Please note the student and their spouse must purchase their memberships at the same time and the same rates apply for both. A student must have a summer membership for their spouse to be eligible for one. 

If you were awarded the Pell Grant for the 18 - 19 academic year your membership fee will be waived. Complete the waiver form (linked below) & you will be notified within 7 business days when your membership forms have been approved. Waiver Form: https://goo.gl/forms/c215LqlsQ8vaEWIQ2

Winter quarter graduates are eligible for a prorated Alumni Membership for two and a half months until graduation. These students are not current students, and their ACCESS cards will be turned off for spring quarter access as of April 1, 2019. A winter graduate membership is non-refundable.

All Winter Quarter graduates may now purchase an Alumni Membership at a prorated amount. The fee is $80 compared to the normal quarterly fee of $150. On May 6, 2019, the fee becomes $40 for the rest of Spring Quarter. Students working for their last quarter as a student employee must still purchase a membership to have access. To get your Malley Center Membership access card, & sign up as a Winter Quarter Graduate stop by the Malley Center Front Desk. 

All sponsoring departments will have to complete and submit the Malley Center Membership Card Visiting Professor Form (Visiting Professor Membership Form). The completed form can be emailed to campusrec@scu.edu and cc: callison@scu.edu or returned to the Malley Center Front Desk Student Staff to the attention of the Assistant Director of Aquatics and Membership. Departments will note the length of the visit, the name of the visitor, and whether their department or the individual will be covering the $55 per month fee during their visit. A Malley Center Membership Card will be given for the duration of their visit.

After the form is submitted, the sponsoring department's contact will receive an email when the form has been processed and the visiting professor or scholar can come by to obtain their Malley Center Membership Card. If the individual is paying for their membership, they will have to pay for the duration of their visit at their initial set up of their membership. Please allow for 3 - 4 business days upon the form being submitted for you to receive the confirmation e-mail. 

Visiting professors' spouses may obtain a membership for the same $55 per month rate or be sponsored as a guest when they are on campus. If interested in a spouse membership for a visiting professor please contact campusrec@scu.edu to start the forms required and note the membership type for the Malley Center Front Desk student staff before the first visit.

 

 

Additional Information

Incoming/current students who are under 18 years of age may enter the facility free of charge. Guest Pass holders are not eligible to bring in their children/minors. For our complete children/minor policies, please see the Policies page.

Incoming students who will arrive on campus under 18 years of age must have a waiver on file with their parent's or legal guardian's signature: Liability Release Form for Underage Students. Once the waiver has been completed, it can be emailed to campusrec@scu.edu, faxed back to 408-551-7180, or mailed to 500 El Camino Real Attn: Malley Center Santa Clara, CA 95053.

All other students agree to the waiver via E-Campus annually as of July 1, or as they become new students.

If a student who had submitted a paper waiver turns 18 before or after arriving on campus, they will have to agree to the waiver again online via E-Campus on or after their 18th birthday.

We are excited to have you on campus with us during your time while in classes if you would like to use the recreation facilities you need to be active in our database. All members are allowed to sponsor a guest(s) at any time for the nominal guest fee. All guest must be 18 years or older at the time of their visit. For our complete guest pass policies, please see Guest Passes.

Parking permits are not included in the alumni memberships, visiting professors or the spouse memberships. All Malley Center Membership card holders will need to purchase a parking permit or day pass through Transportation Services (408-554-5087) or park off campus and walk into campus to use our facilities. 

Annual, Quarterly and Monthly Malley Center Memberships are refundable. The 10 Visit Membership Pass is non-refundable. To request a refund, complete the Refund Request Form and submit it to campusrec@scu.edu or to the Malley Center Front Desk for processing. Please be sure to include the member's name, mailing address, contact phone number & reason for cancellation.

Memberships will be prorated based on the amount paid per month, and the number of months left in their membership term, minus a $15 membership card fee. Your membership card will be canceled the date we receive the refund request. All refund checks will be mailed to the address provided on the form within four to six weeks.
