SDG Action and Awareness Week

SDG Week 2024

SCU recognizes March 4th through the 8th as Sustainable Development Goals Action and Awareness Week, as established by the University Global Coalition. The United Nations identified 17 SDGs to promote improvements in wellness, peace, and prosperity for people and the planet. Throughout the week, the Center for Sustainability hosts events to raise awareness and inspire action aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.  

 

  • Movie Night: 2040 

    Monday, March 4

    Library Taping Room A

    Join us for a screening of the 2019 Australian documentary 2040. This film focuses on technological solutions to address the effects of climate change.

  • Broncos Vote 

    Tuesday, March 5
    7:00 am - 8:00 pm
    At voting locations near campus

    The Ignatian Center for Jesuit Education, the Office of Student Involvement, and the Center for Sustainability are joining forces for a #BroncosVote campaign for California Primary Election Day!  Walk or carpool with us to polling and ballot drop box locations near campus and get a unique SCU "I Voted" sticker.

  • Sustainability and Justice Job Fair 

    Wednesday, March 6

    This session will highlight current and upcoming campus positions in Sustainability and Justice offered through the Center for Sustainability and the Miller Center for Social Entrepreneurship.

  • California Arbor Day Tree Planting

    Thursday, March 7
    11:30 am - 12:15 pm
    Between the Learing Commons and Graham Residence Hall

    Celebrate California Arbor Day with the Center for Sustainability and the University Operations Landscaping team with a ceremonial tree planting of native California oak trees.

  • EcoFashion Show and Career Panel 

    Friday, March 8
    7:00 - 10:00 pm
    Music Recital Hall

    Join the Center for Sustainability, SCU•Presents, and the Career Center for SCU’s 11th annual EcoFashion Show! This fun event showcases upcycled designs made by SCU community members, as an opportunity to consider the impacts of fashion and learn about sustainable solutions. During the career panel portion, speakers from the sustainable fashion industry will share their insights and answer questions.
