As an alternative to linking to a PDF file and having the viewer open the file using the web browser or Acrobat Reader, you can create a section and use the PDF Viewer content type to embed the file directly in the page. For documents requiring a larger viewing area, you may find that the Full Width page layout will work best. You can switch to that layout in the section editor.
